Y&R- Why would Nick abandon Faith to look for Sharon?

It seems to me that little girl has lost enough caregivers. Nick runs off after Sharon with no thought to who is going to care for his baby in his absence. Sharon made her choice, and it wasn't Nick. It's time to face up to his responsibilities. I'd say the same about Phyllis but Summer is away right now.
