Boyfriend hesitates to kiss me?

Wel yesterday I said "I want a kiss goodbye" and we were are school, (this was afterschool too). He looked to see who was about 100 ft away from us, and I know he didn't know them. He always says he's In love with me. So does this mean he's embarrassed of me or something?.... It took him 5 seconds to give me te kiss right there
