My ipod touch can not download any apps?

Well there was one time when my i tried to download an app from the app store, we all know that when you download an app, it goes back to the home page then your app appears, wel mine is different, when i downloaded an app. It did return to the home screen but the app appears for a second and disappears. Anyone had this problem? By the way the os is 4.1
